Shaheen Afridi stunned as Mohammad Haris scoops him for a six
The batter kept going and smashing bowlers until he was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi in the 18th over. This isn’t the first incident of an intense battle between the two top-notch players. Before Mohammad Haris’ scoop, earlier in the PSL 2023, Shaheen Afridi had broken the batter’s bat with his pace. In the first encounter between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi had a thundering performance in the opening overs. Mohammad Haris’ bat was broken by Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen with his first ball of the innings.
Speaking about the game in addition to Mohammad Haris’ scoop shot, the game was a thriller with Lahore Qalandars finishing the chase of 172 runs within 19 overs. Mirza Tahir Baig was the highest scorer for his team. After the victory, Shaheen Afridi said, “In big games, there will be pressure. If the toss doesn’t go our way it is even harder, and we spoke about we have to do well regardless of batting or bowling first. The balls on a hard length at the end was gripping when we bowled first. We have the team to get these runs, credit to Tahir for the way he batted. I am trying my best to give to the team always in batting, bowling and fielding. I want to come out to bat when the situation demands.”
