Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka – 3rd ODI : Match Preview, Probable Playing XI, Pitch Report & Updates
The final One Day International of the three-match series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on May 28, Friday at 12:30 pm IST.
The Sri Lanka-Bangladesh series was expected to be a closely fought affair. However, the series has just gone one way as Sri Lanka have failed to show any resistance and consequently, are on the verge of a whitewash against Bangladesh. Though the bowlers have done a decent job, the batting has let them down. Interestingly, batting was their stronger department.
Bangladesh too hasn’t been at their best but Mushfiqur Rahim and the bowlers have got them over the line. Looking at the misery of Sri Lanka batsmen, Bangladesh would back themselves to clean sweep Sri Lanka tomorrow.
The wickets have been sluggish in nature and have offered plenty of assistance to the spinners. The pacers have got the ball to move early on. However, the wicket is not unplayable by any means and once set, plenty of runs are for the taking.

Mahmudullah have offered great support to Mushfiqur Rahim. He scored a half-century in the first ODI and played a decent knock of 41 in the second game. He is in decent knick thus will be keen to convert these starts into big scores.
The Sri Lanka batsmen had no answers to Hasan in the first two games. With the pitch offering enough assistance to the spinners, he is likely to continue his dominance over Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh are expected to win the third ODI as well.

Probable Playing XIs for BAN vs SL:
Tamim Iqbal(c), Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
Kusal Perera(w/c), Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Ashen Bandara, Wanindu Hasaranga, Isuru Udana, Lakshan Sandakan, Dushmantha Chameera
The 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is in fine form in his cricket career. The batsman was the main force behind Bangladesh reaching 257 runs in the first ODI as he played a sublime knock of 84 runs off 87 deliveries. The right-hander is expected to continue with his exploits with the willow throughout the ODI series.
Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal forms the backbone of the team’s batting line-up. The opening batsman was in a good rhythm in the previous game against Sri Lanka as he smashed 52 runs. In the second ODI, Iqbal will be hoping to lead from the front, and play a captain’s knock.
Wanindu Hasaranga was a revelation for Sri Lanka in the first ODI. The 23-year-old was at his fluent best with the willow as he amassed 74 runs in just 60 balls. Though Wanindu went wicketless with the ball, he bowled an economical spell by conceding just 48 runs in his 10 overs. Sri Lanka will expect a similar all-round performance from Wanindu Hasaranga in the second ODI too.
Expect Sri Lanka to step up and level the series.
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka – 1st ODI: Match Preview, Probable Playing XI, Pitch Report & Updates
The first ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka and is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 PM IST
Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are coming back from defeats in their previous series. While Bangladesh was annihilated by New Zealand, Sri Lanka bowed down to West Indies. At home, Bangladesh will feel more confident about their chances. The Tamim Iqbal led side has been bolstered by the return of their ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan. In addition, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das form a formidable batting line-up. Also, they have a perfect mix of pace and spin in the bowling department and the all-rounders add a lot of depth to the team.
The visitors, on the other hand, heavily rely on Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva. Sri Lanka have dropped their senior players like Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal for this series thus they are short on experience. If the aforementioned trio fails to perform, Sri Lanka will be in trouble. Also, their bowling looks bleak. They will need big performances from the spin duo of Akila Dananjaya and Wanindu Hasaranga.
The pitch should be a good cricketing wicket. While there shouldn’t be much on offer for the pacers, spinners will play a big role. Also, the wicket might get slower as the match progresses.

Tami Iqbal – Tamim Iqbal is Bangladesh’s highest run-getter across formats and has 13 hundreds and 50 half-centuries to his name. The skipper will look to lead from the front.
Shakib Al Hasan – An outstanding all-rounder who is currently ranked number one in ICC rankings. Shakib has a lot to offer, both with the bat and ball.
Kusal Perera – Kusal Perera will have to play a big role if Sri Lanka has to go the distance. He has scored five ODI centuries and would love to add a few more on the Bangladesh tour.
Bangladesh has a good record at home thus they will start as favourites.
