The cricket fraternity should gear up for a thrilling game on Sunday as two most formidable sides, New Zealand Women and Australia Women will face each other in the competition. Both the teams are favorites to win the cup and delivered some brilliant performances in the league so far.
Australia Women are undefeatable in the tournament. They won both their games against Pakistan Women and England Women by seven wickets and 12 runs to occupy second place in the points table.
Coming to New Zealand Women, they were denied a good start in the competition. The team faced a loss at the hands of West Indies Women by three runs. The Kiwi Women quickly made amends and bounced back stronger. They are now on a two-match winning streak as they defeated Bangladesh and India by nine wickets and 62 runs. For New Zealand, the bowlers have won both games.
As Australia Women have been in a sublime form in the One Day Internationals for the past few years, they are deemed as the favorites to win the Sunday game.
Sophie Devine is the top run-scorer for New Zealand Women in the World Cup 2022 so far. In three matches, she has amassed 157 runs at an average of 52.33. The batter is again expected to produce a whirlwind knock to help her team register their third consecutive victory.

West Indies Women and India Women are expected to produce a fierce cricketing battle on Saturday. West Indies kickstarted the tournament as underdogs. However, they have now emerged as one of the top teams in the league.
The Carribeans defeated New Zealand Women in their first match while they got better off defending champion England Women in the second encounter. Batting has been the main strength of the team as they scored 259 and 225 runs in their two games.
As far as India is concerned, they made the right start by defeating Pakistan. However, the team couldn’t continue the trend and ended up losing the next match to New Zealand Women by 62 runs.
As West Indies are in a good form in the tournament, they are the favorites to win the Saturday encounter.
Though India Women lost their last game to New Zealand, Harmanpreet Kaur shined with her batting performance. Pakistan Women are struggling with their form in the competition. The Women in Green kickstarted the league with a defeat against India Women. They followed it up with another loss over Australia Women by seven wickets.
Two back-to-back losses must have diminished Pakistan’s confidence. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table. The team needs to improve their performance with the bat as in the two games so far, they have scored only 190 and 137 runs respectively.
Talking about South Africa Women, they will be high on confidence. The team outclassed Bangladesh Women in their opening match to collect two crucial points. Bangladesh were restricted at 175 when they had to chase a score of 208.
As South African players are in a good rhythm, they are the favorites to win the Friday game.
Captain Bismah Maroof was the standout player for Pakistan against Australia with a knock of 78 runs. The skipper will have to lead from the front on Friday to ensure that her team reaches its first victory in the league.
Ayabonga Khaka was the top player for South Africa during their victory against Bangladesh Women. She bagged the player of the match award and will be eager to replicate her performance on Friday. Playing against Bangladesh, Khaka picked four wickets.

New Zealand Women made a dismal start to the league by losing to West Indies Women. However, the team looked in good shape in their last match as they found their way to victory. The Kiwis hammered Bangladesh by nine wickets to collect two crucial points.
India Women, on the other hand, are taste to lose a game in the World Cup 2022. They outplayed Pakistan Women in the opening game by a massive 107 runs. The victory will provide a lot of confidence to the team as all the players lived up to their responsibility.
Notably, the two teams were up against each other in a five-match ODI series last month. New Zealand scored a win in the series by 4-1 as India won the last game after losing the first four matches. If we compare the two teams, India Women have a greater chance of winning against New Zealand Women.
The opening batter Suzie Bates is expected to be the top run-scorer for New Zealand in their encounter against India Women. Bates was brilliant during her team’s last game against Bangladesh as she took the man of the match award home. The opener slammed 79 runs off just 68 balls with the help of eight boundaries.
For India, Pooja Vastrakar was the wrecker-in-chief as they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening game. Playing in the lower middle-order, Pooja smashed 67 runs from 59 balls at a strike rate of 113.56. The batter is expected to continue her outstanding form of Thursday to take her team to another victory.

Australia Women and Pakistan Women made contrasting starts to the ICC Women’s World Cup. Australia delivered an all-around performance in their first game against arch-rivals England Women.
The team excelled with the bat by posting 310 runs on the scoreboard. Chasing the total, England were restricted to a score of 298. Pakistan Women, on the other hand, failed to deliver a comprehensive performance against India Women.
They ended up scoring only 137 runs in reply to the target of 244 runs by India. As Australia Women are in a better form and they have a settled side at their disposal, they are the favorites to win the game.
Rachael Haynes was the star player for Australia as they got off to a winning start by defeating England by 12 runs. The opening batter made a mockery of the opposition bowlers by slamming 130 runs. Due to the exploits by Haynes, the Women in Yellow racked up a score of 310 runs in their 50 overs. The opener is expected to continue her sublime form on Tuesday as well.
Pakistan Women will have their hopes pinned on their opening batter Javeria Khan. The 33-year-old will have to play from the front if Pakistan wants to bounce back stronger in the marquee tournament. In the previous game, she could score only 11 runs after facing 28 deliveries.

New Zealand Women and Bangladesh Women will hope for a comeback to avoid lagging behind in the league. The host faced a massive upset in the curtain-raiser as they were outplayed by West Indies Women.
It was a close encounter but the Caribbeans held their nerves to ensure a victory by three wickets. The only positive for the team was the century by their captain Sophie Devine. Bangladesh Women, on the other hand, were beaten by South Africa Women by 32 runs.
It was a one-sided affair as Banglades scored just 175 while chasing a score of 208. The Women in Red and Green need to improve with the willow to make a mark in the league.
Meanwhile, New Zealand are the favorites to win the Monday game. The team has dished out a lot of spectacular performances in the past while they will also have the home advantage.
Skipper Sophie Devine was the standout performer for New Zealand Women. The captain made headlines with her brilliant performance with the bat. Devine hammered 108 runs off 127 deliveries including ten boundaries. Sophie is again expected to lead from the front as her team will take on Bangladesh Women.

Pakistan Women and India Women will be playing a fierce battle of cricket on Sunday. India will have an upper hand as they have won all the ten One Day Internationals against the Women in Green. They have also secured victory in ten out of 11 T20 International against Pakistan.
Both India and Pakistan failed to make a mark in their last ODI series. Pakistan Women were up against West Indies Women in a three-match ODI series in November last year. The series saw Pakistan losing by 3-0.
India, on the other hand, suffered a loss against New Zealand. Playing a five-match ODI series last month, the Women in Blue endured a loss by 4-1. However, the two teams redeemed themselves in the warm-up matches.
Pakistan won both its warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh by four wickets and Bangladesh. Coming to India Women, they hammered West Indies and South Africa by 81 and two runs respectively.
Both teams will be high on confidence after winning the warm-up matches. However, looking at splendid records of the India Women against Pakistan, they are slight favorites to win the Sunday contest.
All-rounder Nida Dar is expected to deliver a match-defining performance for Pakistan in their game against India Women. The all-rounder has shown exceptional improvement in the recent past as she has steered Pakistan to a lot of victories with her combined effort with both bat and ball. Nida has played a total of 84 One Day Internationals scoring 1290 runs and picking 74 wickets.
The skipper Mithali Raj is expected to lead the attack for Women in Blue as they will play their first Women’s World Cup 2022 match. Raj was in a good form during the recently-concluded ODI series against New Zealand Women. The veteran has a lot of experience to her name as she has amassed 7623 runs in 225 One Day Internationals.
