IND vs AUS: After a heartbreaking defeat in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India is all set to take on Australia in a five-match T20I series. The focus will shift to the T20 internationals as the T20 World Cup 2024 is just 6-7 months away. The T20I series will start on November 23 with the first game in Visakhapatnam. The Indian selection committee announced India’s squad for the series and picked Suryakumar Yadav as the skipper.

It is almost the same squad that played at the Asian Games 2023 in China. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the vice captain. Prasidh Krishna and Shreyas Iyer (for the last two T20Is) are the only two players from the squad that played in the World Cup 2023. It looks like Indian management wants to give a chance to the fresh faces, considering the T20 World Cup is coming up. But there are three unlucky players who didn’t get a chance and who deserve to be on the team.

Here are three unlucky Indian players to miss out a place in IND vs AUS T20Is

3. Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar was picked in the team as a bowling all-rounder who can give some solid overs at the front and also hit some big shots with the bat. He improved his power-hitting, which has been delivered in a couple of games for India. But it looks like India has moved on from him, and he is not in the plans any more. He has an average reason in 2023, which has affected his place in the team.

2. Yuzi Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal has taken most wickets for India in the T20 internationals and also in the IPL. The veteran leg spinner is a go-to bowler in the shortest format and always chips in with wickets. He has taken 96 wickets in 80 matches at a best of 6/25. But he has been ignored whenever a big tournament comes. And he is very unlucky that he couldn’t find a place in the upcoming IND vs AUS series.

1. Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson has been one of the most followed cricketers among the fans. But he has been unlucky as well. The 29-year-old made his T20I debut in 2015, and until now, he has played only 24 matches despite performing well in some IPL seasons. He was part of the Ireland tour earlier this year, but now the selectors have ignored him for the coming IND vs AUS series.
