AB de Villiers reveals his Dream Playing XI of the World Cup 2023; five Indian players on the list
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 concluded on Sunday, with Australia ending the tournament as the new champion. They won their sixth World title, and India was left empty-handed once again in an ICC tournament. There were some exceptional performances throughout the tournament, and some players played out of their skins. Former South African star AB de Villiers revealed his best team of the tournament.
Team India dominated the tournament and won ten games on the trot. Most of the Indian players played well throughout the competition. On the other hand, there were some other performers who set some new standards in this tournament. De Villiers has picked five Indian players for his dream team for the World Cup 2023. But surprisingly, he picked only one South African in his team.

For the opening position, AB de Villiers has picked Rohit Sharma and Travis Head. Rohit scored 597 runs in the tournament and gave aggressive starts in almost every game. On the other hand, Head won the “Man of the Match” award in the semi-final and final. He picked Virat Kohli at No. 3. Virat ended the tournament as the highest run scorer and scored the most runs in a single edition.
He scored 765 runs, with three hundred and six half-centuries. AB de Villiers picked Rachin Ravindra, Shreyas Iyer, and Glenn Maxwell in the middle order. Ravindra was superb for New Zealand and scored the most runs for them. He made 578 runs in the tournament, with three hundred and two half-centuries. Shreyas Iyer made 530 runs, with two hundred and two half-centuries. Maxwell made 400 runs at a strike rate of 150.37, with 22 sixes.
De Villiers picked Adam Zampa and Ravindra Jadeja as two spinners for the team. Zampa took 23 wickets, and Jadeja took 16. The former South African captain picked Dilshan Madushanka, Gerald Coetzee, and Mohammad Shami as three pacers for his team. Shami (24), Madushanka (21), and Coetzee (20) took the most wickets for their teams.
