Pakistan’s squad for Asia Cup 2022

Team Pakistan has a whole new bunch of guys and looks like a strong team. Here are 15 members who will represent the green in the Asia Cup 2022:

Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir

Many of the fans were surprised after the team was announced. Hasan Ali is not in the squad which means his chances of playing in the T20 World Cup are negligible now. But a young fast bowler Naseen Shah is allowed to express himself in the T20Is.

Hasan Ali was not good enough on the field and was dropping catches. He has taken 60 wickets in the shortest format at the international level. If he wants to get back into the squad for the T20 World Cup, he will have to do something miraculous.

All eyes are on the 19-year-old Naseem Shah. The fast bowler is yet to make his debut in the T20Is for Pakistan. The management has taken the decision of adding him to the squad for the Asia Cup 2022. He has great speed and smooth action. The youngster has promising records in T20 cricket and has taken a fifer too.

Also, Shaheen Shah Afridi got injured on the Sri Lanka tour. He is in rehabilitation and will soon join the squad in the camp. With the class the men in green showed in the T20 World Cup 2021, they seem to be one of the top contenders for the Asia Cup. Rizwan is in the third spot in the ICC T20I rankings. Suryakumar Yadav has done his bit yesterday by scoring against the Windies and got to the second spot.
