One of the most anticipated clashes between India and Pakistan will take place on August 28, Sunday. After the heavy defeat of 10 wickets, the Men in Blue will look to take revenge on the arch-rivals. The former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, is back in the side for the Asia Cup. However, after an extended break, all eyes will be on him. Many former cricketers and analysts have already criticized him for his lean patch and extra break from the game.

However, some former cricketers and experts have opined that Virat will make a strong comeback in the Asia Cup. In particular, his numbers against Pakistan are incredible, and many expect him to deliver once again on August 28. However, the former Pakistan pacer has made a shocking statement about the 33-year-old’s lean patch.

“Babar Is Technically Sound While Virat Kohli Gets Stuck”- Ex-Pakistan Pacer Draws a Shocking Comparison Between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli hasn’t scored a century in the last 33 months and has played over 100 games in total. His slump continued into 2022, and he has struggled to play significant innings across all formats. Aaqib Javed has drawn a comparison between Babar Azam and Virat. In the latest interview on Pak.TV, Aaqib said,

“There are two types of great players. One is players who, if they get stuck, their rough patch continues for a long time. The others are technically-sound players, whose rough patch cannot continue that long, like Babar Azam, Kane Williamson, Joe Root. It is difficult to find their weakness. Kohli gets stuck at times with those deliveries outside off stump. James Anderson has targetted that a million times.”

The former Pakistan pacer reckons that the 33-year-old often gets stuck with his weakness outside off stump. He also added that Virat looks very conscious whenever he plays, so that is the reason he is struggling. However, the number of former Indian captains playing against Pakistan is staggering. He has scored 311 runs at an incredible average of 77.75 in just seven innings, while no other active batters from both nations have crossed 200 runs.

Furthermore, Aaqib pointed out that if India loses and Kohli fails, then the situation will become worse. Many will criticise him for that. However, he also said that the pitches in the UAE could help him to play a significant knock and regain his form.
