After a victory in the first T20 game of the Eng vs Ban T20, the hosts Bangladesh also won the second game to seal the series. Winning the toss, Bangladesh invited England to bat first. It was anticipated that after sealing the Eng vs Ban ODI series, the touring nation would put up a good fight in the shortest format too. However, the team collapsed at a score of 117 with Mehidy Hasan taking 4 wickets for 12 runs in his 4 overs.

Coming out to chase the 118 runs target and win the Eng vs Ban T20 series, Bangladesh suffered an early blow with Litton Das and Rony Talukdar getting out in a powerplay. Najmul Shanto stayed unbeaten on 46 runs while after his contribution with the bat, Mehidy Hasan also played a 20 runs cameo. The chase wasn’t an easy one as the hosts lost 7 wickets and took 19 overs to finish the game and eventually seal the Eng vs Ban T20 series.

Addressing the loss in the Eng vs Ban T20 series, Jos Buttler said, “It was a different game of T20 cricket, exciting as well but credit to Bangladesh. There is no good way to get out, but it was a tough wicket to start on and Duckett was doing well, we needed someone to stay with him. I thought it was an outstanding bowling performance to defend a low total, we bowled without luck as well but really proud of everyone’s effort.”

Mehidy Hasan was given the player of the match for his all-around contribution in the second Eng vs Ban T20. “I am really happy. After a long time, I am playing T20 cricket and was confused with my role, but my captain and team management backed me. I was just trying to bowl in the right areas. I tried to rotate the strike and if there is a bad ball then put it away,” he said. The last game of the series is scheduled to take place in Dhaka on 14 March.
