On Thursday, December 30, the authorities were forced to postpone the Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers contest.
The two teams were scheduled to play against each other in the 27th match of the T29 Championship, however, it has been postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. Following the news, all the players underwent an RT PCR test and its results are awaited. Speaking about the entire situation, the General Manager of BBL, Alastair Dobson revealed that they had no option other than canceling the match. “While regrettable, the decision to postpone tonight’s match was the only option available given the exposures within the Stars cohort. The league has a number of biosecurity protocols in place to keep our participants safe and the competition moving forward,” said Dobson as quoted by cricket.com.au
