There was no doubt that India missed the services of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the Asia Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Jadeja was ruled out of both competitions due to a knee injury, which totally changed the balance of the team. Because the left-hander brings his all-around skills to the table in both the bowling and batting departments. And he has become a key member of the Men in Blue across all three formats.

Especially with the way he has performed in the last 2–3 years, he is now the complete package for India. In his career, Jadeja has represented India in 60 Tests, 64 T20Is, and 171 ODI matches overall. And he has given Indian fans many memorable performances in his superb career. However, he revealed one unheard incident that took place in 2010 during his early days.

Ravindra Jadeja recalls a moment when he met Indian PM Narendra Modi

In a video posted by Free Press Journal, the all-rounder tells the story. Notably, Jadeja’s wife Rivaba is a BJP candidate from the Jamnagar North constituency in the Gujarat Assembly Elections. He said that it was the game against South Africa at Motera Stadium (now Narendra Modi Stadium), and MS Dhoni was the captain of the team. Dhoni introduced Jadeja to Mr. Modi. Jadeja said,

“I had first met him (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) in 2010 in Ahmedabad. He was the chief minister of Gujarat back then. We (India) had a match against South Africa in the Motera Stadium. Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), who was our captain back then, introduced me to him. Modi Sahab ne khud bola ki ‘bhai ye toh apna ladka hai, dhyaan rakhna (Modi Sir said, ‘He’s our boy, take care of him).”

The all-rounder will be back in action on the Bangladesh tour for the two-match Test series in December. After a gap of almost four months, Jadeja will be back in the action. On the other hand, the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings recently announced the list of their retained players for the next IPL season. However, there was speculation that Jadeja might not stay with CSK anymore. But the franchise retained the all-rounder, putting an end to all speculation.
