BPL 2022: Match officials penalized Mohammad Shahzad for smoking at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday. He is also docked one demerit point for violating the BCB code of conduct, particularly Article 2.20. The article refers to “conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game”. The wicketkeeper-batsman was one of the few players walking on the field on Friday evening. They were waiting for the BPL match to resume as it got interrupted due to rain.

The cricketer’s brazen smoking within the cricket stadium became the topic of the night. According to sources, Minister Group Dhaka coach Mizanur Rahman admonished Shahzad about his behavior. Senior batsman Tamim Iqbal told him to go inside the changing room as well. But it was too late by the time the 34-year-old was persuaded to go inside.

As per the BCB’s press release, there is now no need for a formal hearing because Shahzad agreed to the offense. He has also accepted the sentence imposed by match referee Neeyamur Rashid. In his 120-run tally, he has played all seven matches for Dhaka in BPL 2022. This also includes scores of 53 and 42 runs. After Friday’s washout, Dhaka is in third place on the standings with seven points from seven games.

His photographs were already going viral on social media. But more people were criticizing and trolling the league for their soft authority over the players. Also, fewer people only criticized Shahzad himself. People have also questioned his fitness levels and respect for the game. Some also question why clubs invest so much money on him when he continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons. Here’s our daily betting tips for free.

BPL 2022: Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Chattogram Challengers’ issues finally resolved

The BCB accepts the answers provided by the franchise administrators and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is now out of captaincy of the team since last week. This has now put a stop to the Chattogram Challengers’ captaincy issue. The BCB summoned owner Rifat Uzzaman, chief operating officer Syed Easir Alam, and player Mehidy Hasan Miraz of the BPL T20 team Chattogram Challengers. They were summoned on Thursday to resolve their recent feud. Miraz was out of his captaincy before the team’s sixth BPL match against Sylhet Sunrisers.

Various accounts are in consideration by BPL governing council secretary Ismail Haider Mallick, BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury, BCB’s head of anti-corruption Maj (retd) Abu Mohammad Humayun Morshed, and BPL tournament in-charge Saiful Amin. “We decided to speak to Miraz and the Challengers officials to find out the reasons for their reaction in public which gave birth to unwarranted speculations. Both the player and the franchisee officials admitted that they had acted unreasonably without considering the consequences. It is a case of miscommunication which should be sort out amicably within the team. They have expressed their regret for allowing the situation to escalate and accepted responsibility for causing embarrassment to the Board and the tournament.”
