Men’s and women’s teams are anticipated to compete under new rules in the inaugural edition. Which is scheduled to be contested from August 24 to 28 at Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis. In an inning, no bowler is permitted to bowl more than two overs. While bowling teams will be penalized for failing to bowl their overs on time. This is an effort to keep the games raunchy and brisk. For the final six balls, a player from the defaulting team will be removed from the field.

“THE 6IXTY has come about because of a close collaboration between CPL and CWI which is the way forward. I am really excited about the innovation, excitement, and entertainment that it is going to bring to the fans.”

Ricky Skerritt, President of Cricket West Indies, said

The time of a “Mystery Free Hit” will be decided by fan vote. Which will allow fans to participate in the game.

“There will be world-class men’s and women’s cricketers taking part in a fantastic event for the Caribbean. And this combined with cutting-edge innovations, signals a great moment for all fans of West Indian cricket.”

CPL: Chris Gayle Will Be The Ambassador For 6ixty

After their ODI series against New Zealand concludes on August 21, West Indies players will be available. And Chris Gayle will serve as an ambassador for the 6ixty. Even though it clashes with the conclusion of the Hundred’s group rounds, some international players are likely to arrive early to compete in the competition. Russell anticipates that teams will use the 6ixty to conduct scouting.

“There will be at least 12 players who aren’t in CPL playing in this event and we’ve been very clear that we don’t just want that to be the old guard. It’s very much going to be new players coming in so teams can have a look at them and if people get injured in CPL.”

Russell said

Recognizing that international players are becoming less ready to commit to spending many weeks in a row away from home in hotel rooms, he also thinks that the tournament’s brief window will make it simple to travel around the world.
