Deepak Chahar: Indian Bowler Seems Fit and Will Be Back Soon

Indian Bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar, who has been missing all of the Indian cricket lately due to an injury, will be back in action soon. Earlier this year, He was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the mega auction of IPL for a whooping sum of 14 crores. But he was ruled out of the tournament without playing a single match. Deepak Chahar has been in and out of the team due to injuries. In February this year, he was last seen in the series against West Indies. Before injury concerns, Deepak became a regular member of the Indian squad. But since IPL 2021, he has been in and out of the team. He also missed the T20I World Cup 2021 and IPL 2022. Recently Indian veteran leg spinner, Amit Mishra, posted a picture with Deepak saying he is fit and will be playing for India and Chennai Super Kings soon.

Deepak Chahar made his T20I debut for India on July 8, 2018, against England. He also can bat as he has scored two fifties for India against South Africa and Sri Lanka in the 50-over format. The 29-year-old recorded his T20I best bowling figure of 6/7 against Bangladesh in 2019. With Deepak missing a lot of cricket in the last year, India has found new youngsters such as Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel. These bowlers have been part of the Indian team for a while now. It will be difficult for Deepak to make a comeback to the team before the T20 World Cup 2022. Deepak is currently at National Cricket Academy, Bangalore. He is undergoing rehabilitation and recovery as he hopes to make it to the Indian Team soon. The 29-year-old is still young in his cricketing career, having played only seven ODIs and 20 T20Is. The fast bowler has taken 36 international wickets in just 27 matches. With the ODI World Cup scheduled next year, Deepak will be keen to return as soon as possible.
