ENG VS IND: Indian star batsman Virat Kohli is due for a big inning, according to England skipper Jos Buttler, who has tipped him to quickly get back in form. The hosts won the second one-day international at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday, defeating the Indian squad by 100 runs to tie the series at one. The hero for England was Reece Topley, who dismantled the Indian batting order and took six wickets for only 24 runs. Are you looking for legal betting sites in India on the go? Kohli was dismissed after only 16 runs, showing his continued ineffectiveness. The former Indian captain’s England tour hasn’t gone well, but Buttler believes he is overdue for a huge inning. The England captain claimed the 33-year-old is one of the top players in the world during the post-game press conference.

ENG VS IND: “Kohli Is Human”: Jos Buttler

ENG VS IND: Jos Buttler Expects Virat Kohli To Regain Form

He explained that although stars of his kind are always due for a strong inning. Players like Virat Kohli do experience dips in form.

“I suppose in a little way it’s quite refreshing for the rest of us that he [Kohli] is human, and he can have a couple of low scores as well, but look, he has been one of the best players, if not the best player in ODI cricket in the world. So he’s been a fantastic player for so many years, and all batters, it just proves, go through runs of the form where they don’t perform as well as they can sometimes do, but certainly as an opposition captain, you know a player of that class is always due.”

ENG VS IND: Criticism Of Virat Kohli’s Form

The England captain also acknowledged that he was a little taken aback by the recent criticism Kohli has received. Still, he insisted that the Indian star’s track record on the international stage speaks for itself.

“Yeah, incredibly surprised; as I said, his record speaks for himself. The matches he’s won for India, and yeah, why would you question that?”

Said Buttler

Virat Kohli’s performance is the subject of more and more conversation every minute. The right-handed hitter failed to score in the second One-Day International against England, getting out with just 16 runs. He chased a pitch outside the off-stump, losing his wicket to bowler David Willey.

Since scoring his last international century in 2019, Kohli has failed to reach the three-figure mark. The hitter struggled to get going against England in both the T20Is and the Edgbaston Test. India’s selection for the forthcoming ODI and T20I series against West Indies, which starts on July 22, will not include Kohli.

India could not chase down 247 in the second one-day international against England, and the team was eventually all out for 146, losing the game by 100 runs. For the hosts, Reece Topley claimed a six-wicket haul.
