There are no plans to call a replacement for Rahul, according to other media reports. The selectors will have to name a vice-captain for the tour because Rahul’s participation in any of the seven games is unlikely.
KL Rahul’s Current Form
Rahul last played for India in February of this year. And led the newly-included Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. In the competition, he maintained his red-hot form. He scored 616 runs at an average of 51.33 and a strike rate of 135.38.
In their first season, he led his side to the playoffs, where they were eliminated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Rahul finished the season as the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer. Prior to that, some key members of the Test team, including batters Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, opener Shubman Gill, all-rounders Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja, and pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, assembled in Mumbai on Thursday morning and left for England.
