Moreover, Indian star batter, KL Rahul was an obvious squad member for the test. Even he was going to lead the Indian side in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa. But due to his groin injury management had to rule him out from the entire series.

He is yet to recover from his injury and for that Rahul will be leaving for Germany for his treatment. KL Rahul will be taking off at the end of June month. BCCI released its official statement on June 16 regarding KL Rahul. They had mentioned that KL Rahul will have to skip the entire England series for his medical treatment.

ENG VS IND: Sanjay Manjrekar on The Absence of KL Rahul
