On Wednesday, July 6, Wasim Jaffer twitted his advice about Rishabh Pant’s batting position in T20I games. He wrote on his official Twitter handle, “Indian think tank should think about opening with Rishabh Pant in T20Is. I think that’s the spot where he can blossom.” Recently, Pant has shown terrific form against English bowlers in the fifth test match. There he scored a century in the first century then he smashed a fifty score in the second innings.

After the test match, the wicket-keeper batter will be in action in the white-ball series which will start with T20I games. He will not participate in the first match. After that, he will join the side from the second match. During this time, the Indian team has lots of other quality wicket-keepers than Rishabh Pant. And this is why Pant is getting strong competition for his post in the Indian team. As a young player, BCCI has Ishan Kishan and if they want to go with experience then they have Dinesh Karthik.

Both these young and veterans are having sensational form in T20I matches. BCCI mainly focused on the upcoming T20 World Cup ahead of the year. And if Pant fails to perform in this series against England then there will certain possibility that BCCI will go with the other two keepers. Moreover, the T20I series between India and England will start on July 7 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. And rest of the two matches will take place at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge.
