The England men’s white-ball cricket team is set to embark on a tour of India in January and February 2025, featuring a series of matches across various cities in the subcontinent. This eagerly awaited tour will commence with the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match in Chennai on January 22 and will conclude with the final One Day International (ODI) in Ahmedabad on February 12.

The tour schedule includes five T20I matches and three ODI matches. Following the opening game in Chennai, the series will progress to Kolkata, Rajkot, Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Cuttack, and ultimately Ahmedabad.

England will seek to redeem themselves following their disappointing performance in the 2023 World Cup held in India, where they exited in the first round. In contrast, India will aim to build on their World Cup campaign, where they reached the finals but were defeated by Australia.

India’s cricketing calendar is packed ahead of England’s arrival. The international home season begins with a two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting on September 19 in Chennai, followed by a three-match T20I series. Subsequently, India will face New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting on October 16 in Bengaluru, with the following matches in Pune and Mumbai.

This tour is a critical component of both teams’ preparations and strategies, offering high-quality cricket to fans in India. It provides England with an opportunity to recover their reputation on Indian soil, while India will leverage their home advantage to demonstrate their strength in the shorter formats of the game.
