Former BCCI Boss Sourav Ganguly Backs Out, Brother Snehasish Ganguly To Become President
Sourav Ganguly, the former BCCI executive, has withdrawn from the Cricket Association of Bengal’s presidential election. Snehasish Ganguly, his brother, is expected to take over as head of the cricket organization. He will succeed his brother as CAB President.
Amalendu Biswas, Naresh Ojha, Debabrata Das, and Prabir Chakraborty all submitted nominations for the CAB’s vice-president and joint-secretary positions, respectively. Prabir Chakraborty also submitted his nomination for the role of treasurer. The opposition has not submitted a CAB nomination.
As Sourav Ganguly stated, he will run for CAB president in the future but decided against it because he served as the organization’s head from 2015 to 2019. Avishek Dalmiya, Jagmohan Dalmiya’s son, took over as CAB president after his father left to become the BCCI’s president. After Avishek Dalmiya’s term expires, Snehasish Ganguly, Sourav’s brother, will assume leadership.

CAB: Sourav Ganguly’s Next Role
On October 18, Roger Binny, the former World Cup-winning all-rounder, was overwhelmingly chosen to serve as the board president, ending Sourav Ganguly’s term as BCCI president. This comes as India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in a thrilling match. At the Melbourne Cricket Stadium’s Super-12 round of the T20 World Cup, India defeated their closest opponents in a historic triumph thanks to Virat Kohli’s 82 runs off 53 balls.
Even though Ganguly was supposed to submit his nomination on Saturday, he told reporters things would be resolved by Sunday. He responded, “Let’s wait until tomorrow. Everything will be apparent,” when asked when he would submit his nomination. He was not running when the nomination deadline for today passed.
CAB: “An Outstanding Match”: Snehashish Ganguly
After his term with the BCCI ended, there was speculation that Sourav might join the International Cricket Council (ICC), but he was not chosen for that position. It is unclear why he abruptly altered his mind, though, so that remains to be seen. Sourav Ganguly won’t be involved in any cricket administration for the time being as a result, and everyone is interested to see what he will do next.
There has been ongoing political brick-batting on this topic ever since he was denied a second term as BCCI president. Snehashish praised Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya for the incredible way they helped India defeat Pakistan at the ICC T20 World Cup.
“We saw an outstanding match. We had lost hope at one point. After a long time, we saw the old Virat Kohli, considered the best at chasing. The way Virat won the match with support from Hardik Pandya was amazing.”Said Snehashish Ganguly
Even if the T20Is are uncertain, India is still a great team, and Snehashish hopes we win the tournament. With this victory, India has two points and leads Group 2. India asked Pakistan to bat first, scoring 159/8 runs off 20 overs.
