Harmanpreet Kaur believes WIPL is a great initiative

“Many girls all over the world will play. Because the opportunity that the next generation will get that is something many old cricketers have missed. Everyone is happy about this and we are waiting for it to start. Personally, for me, it will be a big achievement to participate in that. There can be no bigger achievement for women’s cricket than this. I think it is a great initiative taken by the BCCI and everyone is really working hard to promote women’s cricket. ICC is also doing so well. We all want to take women’s cricket one step ahead,” Harmanpreet Kaur said.
Interestingly, India’s women’s players have already participated in franchise cricket. Several big names have the experience of playing WBBL as well as the hundred. This will help the players to comfortably mould into the requirements of franchise cricket making WIPL much more interesting. The television rights for the Women’s IPL for the years 2023 to 2027 were purchased by Viacom18 on January 16 for a staggering INR 951 crore. As a result, the per match value will cost INR 7.09 crore for every match.
The introduction of the WIPL, according to Harmanpreet, will elevate women’s cricket to parity with that of men’s cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur is playing the tri-series ahead of the T20 World Cup. The women in blue won the first match of the series by 27 runs defeating South Africa.
