Women’s World Cup 2022: Life has come to a full circle for Mithali Raj. The Indian women’s team captain made her debut in New Zealand back in 2000. And now she is on the cusp of leading her country to the elusive title as World Cup returns to the Kiwi nation after 22 years. Here are some perfect cricket betting tips for the 2022 Season.

The 39-year old was inches closer to lifting the elusive title in the 2017 final against England. However, a batting collapse shattered the dreams of millions of Indians. They lost the match by a mere 9 runs. She was also a member of the team that lost to Australia in the 2005 Women’s World Cup final. Mithali is playing her sixth World Cup of her career.

She commented about her team’s preparations and her dream of winning the World Cup in a video posted by the ICC on their Twitter handle.

I have come a long way from the 2000 World Cup, that also in New Zealand. I missed (matches of) that World Cup because of typhoid and here I am. It has come a full circle and I am looking forward to finishing the journey,”

said Mithali Raj

“I would look forward to all my players doing well in the World Cup and that will give the Indian team the opportunity to get a hand on that elusive cup”

Women’s World Cup 2022: India had a 1-4 ODI series loss away to New Zealand prior to the World Cup. Despite losing the series, their batters scored some important runs and are in good form heading into the first game against archrival Pakistan. Mithali said the loss to New Zealand wouldn’t be a factor as they were looking to play with permutations, combinations and improve as a team.

“What we are looking at improving as a team for the World Cup is something we worked in the last series and before that. Yes, there was a bit of concern during South Africa and England tour. By the Australia and New Zealand series, the team has come around well to score above 250 consistently. We look forward to doing the same during the World Cup, probably much better than that,”

Raj concluded

Mithali Raj will be playing her sixth World Cup. She made her ODI debut against Ireland in 1999, scoring a brilliant century. She has since been a mainstay in India’s batting lineup, and she also holds the record for most runs scored in Women’s One-Day Internationals. Mithali is hitting the peak at the right moment as she accumulated 235 runs in the 5-match ODI series vs New Zealand. She will be the vital cog in India’s middle-order in the World Cup.

India will start as one of the strong contenders to lift the title. The team is expected to perform well at this year’s edition and has begun their preparations for the tournament well, having won both of their two warm-up matches. On March 6th, India will play Pakistan in Mount Maunganui in the tournament’s opening match. Here is our daily Cricket betting sites list for the 2022 Season.
