IND vs ENG: India is on a tour of England for the multi-format series. The first one-day international tour is underway at Kennington Oval. The match has already started and the home team is in a difficult position. However, it was Rohit Sharma who won the toss and chose to bowl first. Notably, the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, didn’t feature in the match due to a groin injury. So India picked Shreyas Iyer to take his place on the team. Discover more best sports betting sites in India that are top-rated in the market and it has an amazing live betting platform. On the other hand, England fielded their strongest side so far. Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jonny Bairstow all three made the playing XI. However, just before the start of the innings, the former England skipper, Micheal Vaughan, predicted England would score 400 runs in the first ODI against India. But the current situation is looking worse for the home team.

IND vs ENG: “Wouldn’t Surprise Me to See 400 Being Scored”- Micheal Vaughan’s bold prediction for England in 1St ODI vs India

In the pre-match show just before the start of the first ODI, Vaughan made a bold statement. He said this English side made 498 runs against the Netherlands a couple of weeks ago and is capable of doing it once again. On a cricket chat show on Cricbuzz, he said,

“England will be strong, the wicket will be flat. England scored 498 against the Netherlands, which won’t be possible against India, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see 400 being scored. Livingstone will be there somewhere as well. You are never quite sure what the line-up will be, but they (Root, Bairstow, & Stokes) will all play.”

This is the first time that England have picked their full-strength batting line-up. However, looking at the current situation of the England team in the match is getting worse. It appears that they could even get all out for under 100 runs. Within the first 10 overs, the hosts have lost their first 5 wickets and are struggling with the last batting pair of Moeen Ali and skipper Jos Buttler.

Five English batters got out for a duck.   Well, nothing can be said. The conditions are looking good for the bowling and India have picked up a less experienced side. So it will be interesting to see how many England can add from this position, and Vaughan’s prediction was most likely a fluke.
