IND vs NZ: Shubman Gill names India’s best batter between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar

The Indian team batted first in the third ODI. Batting first, the hosts put up a massive score of 385/9 in their inning. Both openers smashed brilliant hundreds to give India a flying start. They added 212 runs for the first wicket, which is the highest for India against New Zealand for the first wicket. Rohit ended his 3-year-long century drought and scored his 30th ODI ton.
He made 101 off 85 runs with six maximums and nine fours. Gill also scored his fourth ODI ton. He was asked about the best Indian batter between Virat and Sachin after the game on Star Sports. He replied,
“I think Virat Bhai because…Sachin sir is the reason why I started playing cricket because my dad was his huge fan. When he retired, I was too young to understand cricket. By the time I started to understand cricket a little more, I would say Virat bhai because I have learnt a lot from him as a batter.”
The 23-year-old scored his third century in the last four ODIs. He slammed his maiden double century in the first game and scored 112 off 78 balls in the third ODI. He has scored the joint-most runs (360) with Babar Azam in a three-match bilateral series. India will now lock horns with New Zealand in three T20Is starting on January 27 in Ranchi.
