IND vs NZ: Rohit Sharma and Co. getting a traditional welcome at the airport and hotel in Ranchi – Watch
Meanwhile, the Rohit Sharma-led team reached Raipur on Thursday, where they got a warm welcome at the airport and then while arriving at their hotel. All the Indian players and support staff got the traditional welcome. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also shared the video of it on their official Twitter handle. They tweeted, “Warm welcome for #TeamIndia here in Raipur ahead of the 2nd #INDvNZ ODI.”
New Zealand will have a big task on their hands going forward for the second game. They lost the first match despite coming so close. The top order couldn’t contribute much, and it was Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner that took them near the target. Bracewell scored his second ODI century off just 53 balls and made 140 runs off 78 balls, including 12 fours and 10 sixes. But he got out on the second ball of the final over, and the visitors were dismissed for 337 runs.
For them, it will be a must-win game because another loss will mean the series is over. Meanwhile, for India, they will once again have to re-examine its bowling plans. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were the only two bowlers that looked good in the first ODI. All other bowlers were taken to the cleaners by Bracewell and Santner. It will also be interesting to see whether Umran Malik makes the playing XI or not.
