India Can Go to Hell Says Javed Miandad Over Asia Cup Spat
BCCI has clearly mentioned that under no circumstances will team India travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup. The cricketing board explained that owing to the problematic relations between the two nations, the Indian government will not provide permission for the travel. This has now triggered former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad. After the Asian Cricket Council’s most recent meeting, it was decided that a new neutral venue could be finalized in March.

At a public event recently, Javed Miandad spoke some harsh words against India owing to the Asia Cup spat. In the opinion of the former skipper, the main reason men in blue were avoiding the visit was because of their fear of losing. “India can go to hell if they don’t want to come to Pakistan to play cricket. I’ve always backed Pakistan. And you know that I don’t leave spare India whenever an issue arises. But the thing is we need to look at our part,” he said.

Javed Miandad unhappy about India’s stand over Asia Cup
“Come and play. Why don’t they? They run. For them, it becomes a trouble if they come here and lose to us. During our time, they used to not play because of the same reason. Riots and fighting take place there. The crowd there is very nasty. They are bet losers. The public there need to understand. Cricket is a sport. If you don’t play well, you deserve to lose,” Javed Miandad added.
The former player lashed out at ICC as well for not handling the Asia Cup situation well. He, furthermore added that if India does not visit Pakistan for Asia Cup, it should be debarred. PCB has been reluctant to host the Asia Cup 2023. Standing up for themselves, they’ve referred to the visits to New Zealand, Australia, and England to back their safety concerns. After the terrorist attack during Sri Lanka’s tour more than a decade ago, teams refused to travel to Pakistan.
India has cut ties with Pakistan and has not played any bilateral series since 2012. The two teams only face each other in tournaments like Asia Cup, World Cup, T20 World Cup, etc. UAE emerges as the safest place to conduct the tournament. Similar to how Sri Lanka pulled off hosting Asia Cup in UAE, Pakistan can have the hosting rights at a neutral venue.
