The run chase, however, wasn’t easy for the hosts. Marcus Stoinis dismissed Ishan Kishan in the second over of India’s innings in the IND VS AUS 1st ODI. Mitchell Starc who wasn’t able to create much impact in the tests created havoc in the game by picking up wickets of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya had a small partnership before Marcus Stoinis provided a breakthrough. Nonetheless, KL Rahul reached his half-century and Ravindra Jadeja scored 45 runs to take India through.
The duo shared a 100+ runs partnership that helped India win the 1st ODI. Ravindra Jadeja was the player of the match for his brilliant spell of 2 wickets for 46 runs and a contribution of 45 runs with the bat. After the victory in the IND VS AUS 1st ODI, captain Hardik Pandya said, “We were under pressure both the times. We kept our composure and found ways to come out of those situations. Once we got the momentum towards us, we were quite on top of the game. I am really proud of the way we caught today.”
