Although it wasn’t a long inning from Pujara, he looked good during his stay. With his 42-run knock in the second inning, he also became the only Indian active player to achieve a special feat. Pujara became the only active Indian to have more than 2000 Test runs against Australia. He also became only the fourth Indian overall to do so. He joined the elite list of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid.

Pujara has always liked performing against the mighty Australians. In his career, he has played a total of 24 tests against them. He was the man of the series during the 2018-19 BGT series in Australia, which India won 2-1. He has scored 2033 runs at an average of 50.82 in 43 innings.
