Ind vs Aus: Harbhajan Singh Believes Virat Kohli Can Score More Than 100 Hundred
After a horrible start to the series for Virat Kohli, the veteran player finally got his much-awaited 28th test ton. Virat Kohli’s rough patch ended last year when he made his first T20I century but despite the runs coming in other limited overs, he was unable to bring the same touch to test cricket. There were talks about Virat Kohli no longer being fit to play tests anymore but once again he proved them wrong.
Virat Kohli walked into bat after Pujara got dismissed right before the tea on day 3 of the test. The men in blue were in trouble with one player unavailable. The former Indian captain looked a bit shaky at the start but as the game progressed, Virat Kohli got into the groove. His wicket was the final nail in the coffin as India finished on 571. Kohli’s 186 runs innings marked his 75th international century. In a discussion post at the end of day 4, Harbhajan Singh couldn’t stop himself from praising Virat Kohli.

“If anyone can do it, it’s Virat Kohli,” says Harbhajan Singh on breaking Sachin’s record
Speaking about the batter, Harbhajan Singh said that he wouldn’t be surprised if Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100, hundreds. With his level of health and if he plays in all three forms, Singh predicted the former Indian captain might reach 50 more hundreds.”It’s certainly possible. I think he can score more than that (100 centuries). Two things favor Virat here: his age, and his fitness. He’s 34 but his fitness is that of a 24-year-old cricketer. He’s way ahead in that aspect. He has already scored 75 centuries, he can score at least 50 more. He knows his game and he plays all formats. You might think I’m going overboard with this, but it is certainly possible. If anyone can do it, it’s Virat Kohli. There are no technical faults, and even if they are, he works on them and rectifies them,” he added.
The 186 runs innings were not the typical innings by Kohli. The player was cautious and took quite some time to take runs. In addition to Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill who was included in the playing XI in place of KL Rahul scored a century too. R Ashwin picked up another 5-wicket haul on a pitch that barely had anything for the bowlers. Axar Patel finished the Border-Gavaskar trophy with 3 half-centuries. The fourth game in Ahmedabad finished with a draw, with India winning the series 2-1.
