IND VS AUS: “India’s Direct-Hit Conversion Ratio Has Improved”, T Dilip
IND VS AUS: Even if some of those direct hits didn’t result in run-outs, the Indian fielders have made significant strides in their success rates, according to fielding coach T Dilip. Dilip noted that the team appears to have improved in that area. By referencing KL Rahul’s direct hit to dismiss an on-song Litton Das during the T20 World Cup in Australia. Which helped India halt Bangladesh’s momentum and secure a slim victory.

Dilip told the media after India’s optional training session here at the Wankhede Stadium“There are certain areas where we have certainly improved over some time. If you look at the number of direct-hit percentage in the World Cup and that one direct hit from KL Rahul changed the course of the match.”
“That’s Something We Are Looking”: T Dilip
Dilip said“That’s something we are looking at as a group, and if you look at its overall ratio, even though there are no runouts, the number of times we have hit the stumps has improved a bit. That’s one area we will keep improving. We all know that KL Rahul is a wonderful player. He has a proven record. Even in ODIs, in the middle-order, he has proven enough as a batter. Since he is not someone who has picked the gloves just now – he has been doing that since a younger age he adds a lot of things.”
Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batsman who skipped the optional training session, was encouraged by Dilip to keep performing well at No. 5.

Role Of Senior Players In Team India
To ensure that each player is properly trained to play a certain position on the field. Dilip stated that the squad aims to have specialized fielding drills and training. For the first ODI here on Friday, India’s stand-in captain will be Hardik Pandya. And Dilip believes the all-rounder will succeed.
Dilip said“He is the captain now officially. But he has been in our leadership group for all these matches, and he’s proven in T20s what he can bring to the table as a captain. Even if Rohit is the captain, he is part of our leadership group and adds a lot of value to the team, not only to you. They have proven over some time they have been role models in terms of what they can contribute in fielding. What I see as special when they come to practice is the intensity.”
The senior players, including Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, motivate the younger players to improve their fielding, the fielding coach continued.
