IND vs WI ODI Series: Rohit Sharma will hunt major milestones when India takes on West Indies in a 3-match ODI series, starting Sunday, February 6 in Ahmedabad. The newly-appointed limited-overs captain will lead the team when they play the 1000th ODI on Sunday. India will be the first team in international cricket to do so.

All eyes will be on captain Rohit as he recovers from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the South Africa tour. He will captain India in ODIs for the first time as a full-time captain, a month after Virat Kohli was sacked.

Rohit had another productive season in 2021. He was India’s leading run-getter in all the 3 formats combined. The skipper piled up 1,420 runs at an average of 43.3. He will once again look to lead from the front as India are looking to put behind the whitewash to South Africa.

While the ‘Hitman’ doesn’t need any extra motivation, he is aiming for a couple of milestones. In fact, Rohit and his former skipper Kohli are competing for the best batting record in ODIs against the West Indies at home. Do check our betting tips today.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also holds the record for most runs scored by an Indian batter against the West Indies in one-day internationals. In fact, Kohli is the only batter in India-West Indies ODI history to have scored more than 2000 runs. Rohit Sharma is third on the list, only 50 runs behind Sachin Tendulkar in second place.

Notably, Rohit led the batting charts when the West Indies visited India in 2019 for a three-match One-Day International series. The opener had scored 258 runs in three matches, including a century and a fifty.

It will be a tough test for India against Pollard’s men, who arrived in India after a 3-2 win over England in a five-match T20I series at home. Seeking for betting apps in india? Check all the apps here.
