IPL 2022: The IPL is gearing up for its 15th season this year. So will the Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals were the first winners of the IPL. They won the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008. The franchise has come a long way. However, they have not won the title since. Fore more IPL 2022 Match Predictions and upcoming match updates, read more here on our site.

Rajasthan Royals retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of the mega auction under the player retention policy. The franchise further bought 21 more players, making a total tally of 24 players inclusive of 8 overseas players.

Team management must now be working on finding the right combination for the team. Though Rajasthan Royals look very solid on paper, they do have many shortcomings apparently. Most players will be considered when building the right team. However, there will be some who will not get to play any games this season.

IPL 2022: 3 Rajasthan Royals players who might not get to play this season

1) Dhruv Jurel

The 21-year old Dhruv Jurel hails from Uttar Pradesh. He was part of India’s U-19 World Cup team that were runners-up in the 2020 World Cup. Dhruv was assigned deputy of captain Priyam Garg, who too happens to be from Uttar Pradesh. He made his T20 debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in the 2020-21 season and played his debut first-class match in February this year.

Dhruv is an uncapped wicket-keeper and got his first IPL contract this year. The team already has Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler as their obvious first-choice wicket-keepers. There is very little chance that he will get to play a game this year. He, however, has a promising future and will surely find the right opportunities in the IPL. Anunay Singh is a 29-year old uncapped all-rounder who represents Bihar in domestic cricket. He was given his first IPL contract by Rajasthan Royals for a listed base price of INR 20 lac. Anunay is a tall right arm pacer who bowls at a brisk pace. He made his T20 debut last year in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 and has only played a solitary T20 game. He has a good approach towards the bowling crease and has picked up one wicket in his solitary T20 game.

Anunay can also swing the bat and score some crucial runs. However, there isn’t much to substantiate his abilities and in the presence of a better alternative, there is no way he is going to get to play a game this year.
