IPL 2022: Overseas Stars Who Might Be Bought For Base Price
IPL 2022: BCCI and IPL committee is all set with their big plans for IPL mega auction in February 2022. This will result in some of the biggest changes in all the squads which are part of the Indian T20 league. IPL scouts have already submitted their reports on different players from across the globe.
This year’s IPL will be more exciting as two new teams have been introduced i.e. Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Another big change in the IPL which is observed was the release of some of the biggest names from all the franchises.
In the mega auction of IPL, all the teams will be targeting some of the best overseas superstars. All the franchises are ready with the shopping list and will be proactive to make their bid during the event. In this article, we have compiled a list of 5 big international cricket stars, who might be bought for their base price during the mega auction. Do check the BBL live score today.
1) Steve Smith
Steve Smith has already been headlines in recent years because of his controversies and his brilliant comeback in the Australian team. However, Smith was not able to make headlines in the last season of IPL. The Australian batter had a very basic average of 25.33 and he managed to score just 152 runs in 8 matches. The 2.20 Cr salary of the 31-year-old batter is likely to be reduced to a great extent when the 10 IPL teams will bid for him in February. Smith currently holds the cap of vice-captain for the Australian test team but even that factor won’t help him to get a good deal.
2) Eoin Morgan
Kolkata Knight Riders took a huge risk by electing Eoin Morgan as their skipper in the 2020 season of IPL. However, it paid off in the last season of IPL where KKR performed exceptionally well in the second leg of IPL. However, as an individual, Morgan was not able to make any major contribution to the team. In 17 appearances he was able to score just 133 runs which are below expectations. This is one of the reasons why Morgan was released and won’t be able to get a good deal in the upcoming auction.
3) David Miller
The 32-year-old South African batsman, David Miller, was signed with Rajasthan Royals until his last season of IPL. In 9 matches, he was just able to score 124 runs and was not able to play any match-winning innings for the team. Miller will be looking forward to the upcoming season of IPL but there is a high probability that he will be sold for a base price. In international cricket, Miller didn’t have a great year as well and the buyers will be keeping that in mind while bidding. Here’s our live cricket prediction for today.
4) Shakib Al Hasan
One of the most brilliant players from Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan, will be on the radar of some buyers but defiantly not with a good deal. At one point in IPL, Shakib was always the fan-favorite. His last year’s IPL season was not as good as it was expected. With 47 runs with the bat and 4 wickets in 8 matches, Shakib didn’t prove his worth for the upcoming IPL auction. He will defiantly play in IPL 2022 but will be bought for a very nominal price.
5) Mohammed Nabi
The skipper from Afghanistan, Mohammed Nabi, has already reached the age of 37. His last year’s IPL run was also not that great. With just 3 appearances in the last year’s tournament, Nabi scored 34 runs and took 2 wickets with a bowling average of 43.00. He was not able to justify his salary of IPL in 2021. This year Nabi might be sold for a base price. Get some cricket betting tips from experts.
