In the current list of registered players, there are 49 top-class cricketers who have declared their base price as 2 Crores. Among these 49 players, there are 17 Indians and 32 international players. Most of these players will be getting a price what they expected, but there will be some who might see the end of their IPL dream.

In this article, we have compiled a list of 5 players with a base price of 2 Crores who might go unsold in the mega auction.

Odean Smith made his international debut in 2018 against Pakistan in a T20 game for West Indies. Unfortunately, he failed to make an impact on the team during that period.

However, in 2021, there was a complete change in Smith’s bowling. The impact was so huge that he made his comeback for West Indies. He is an active player in CPL. Smith has appeared in 11 games of CPL and picked up 18 wickets at an economy of 7.54. Even though with such strong credentials, Smith might not see the light of getting sold during mega auctions. It will be mainly because of a lot of other options at the same level as Smith.

4) Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir is one the oldest player of the T20 format. He is a well-proven talent leg spinner and is part of a lot of T20 cricket leagues in the world. Tahir is 42 and still plans to play the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup with South Africa. In 344 T20s, Tahir has picked up 435 wickets. He recently made headlines after his brilliant performance at the league of legends tournament. We have best cricket betting tips here in our website.

However, IPL 2022 Mega Auctions might not be good news for the South African player. An IPL team always wants a player from a long-term perspective. Looking at Tahir’s age, the longevity of his career is in doubt.

3) Marchant de Lange

Marchant de Lange is well known for his presence in the T20 cricket leagues. He represents more than 13 T20 teams in the global circuit. In IPL as well, de Lange has played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. In 125 T20 games, the 31-year-old pacer has picked up 142 wickets at an economy of 8.64.

However, his pace and discipline bowling used to be a talk-of-the-town affair. At one point, the South African pacer had the capability to bowl at 90 mph consistently. With the likes of Rabada, Pat Cummins, and Trent Boult, it will be difficult for de Lange to get a higher bid than his base price.

2) Dinesh Karthik

There was a time when Dinesh Karthik was in high demand in the IOPL circuit because of his batting and wicket-keeping skills. His dynamic T20 expertise and flexibility to play a shot were mesmerizing to the IPL viewers. In fact, even his last contract with KKR was around INR 7.4 Crores since IPL 2018.

However, the 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has reached a point where he is not a star attraction anymore. His recent seasons of the league were not as good as the 2018 season. Keeping the longer perspective in mind, Karthik will find it tough to get a higher bid during the IPL mega auction.

1) Craig Overton

After Australian cricketers, English cricketers are always in high demand in the IPL tournament. There is always a probability that an English cricketer will end up with the highest bid. In recent times, Craig Overton has made a massive improvement in his bowling attack. He made his debut in 2021 against Pakistan in ODI format for England.

In domestic cricket, Overton represents Southern Brave and has given a brilliant performance with the team. However, in the T20 format, Overton has not been as impactful as the other two formats of cricket. In 63 T20 games, he has just picked up 58 wickets at an economy of 9. His credentials won’t allow the IPL franchises to bid for him more than his base price or maybe not bid at all. Our today’s match prediction in ipl are much more accurate. Do check it here.
