Ishan Kishan, an India wicketkeeper-batsman, was the most expensive player purchased on Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction, with Mumbai Indians (MI) paying 15.25 crore for him. IPL 2022 Auction: Players Retained by Punjab Kings
Only Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh had been retained by Punjab. They had the biggest purse in the auction (Rs 72 crore). Punjab Kings, one of the teams which are still waiting to win their first IPL trophy, must work more than ever on constructing a great squad in order to realize their ambition. PBKS is planning a major overhaul and will need to fill nearly every segment of the team.
KL Rahul was the captain of the Punjab Kings in the 2021 Indian Premier League. But in IPL 2022, Rahul, who was in outstanding form with the bat, will not be a member of the Punjab franchise.
Punjab King Purse for Day 1
IPL 2022 Auction: After finishing second in the 2014 edition, the squad has struggled to get off to a great start, despite KL Rahul producing large runs for them on a frequent basis. Punjab Kings had the biggest purse on day 1 of the auction, with Rs 72 crore available, while CSK, KKR, DC, and MI had the smallest, with Rs 47.5 crore available.
Punjab Kings also had the highest purse of Rs. 53.20 crore in the IPL 2021 auction, and they also acquired the most players.
IPL 2022 Auction: Players bought by Punjab Kings
After signing Prabhsimran Singh, Harpreet Brar, Sharukh Khan, Rahul Chahar, Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, and Kagiso Rabada, Punjab Kings bring in Jitesh Sharma. On the first day of the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru, Punjab Kings purchased nine players. Dhawan would be a terrific addition at the top of the order, while Rabada is a wicket-taker who can flip games on its heads with his ability to bowl at different periods during the game.
They paid Rs 43.35 crore on these players, with the most going to South African bowler Kagiso Rabada (Rs 9.25 crore).
