Also, the CBI has in detention some seven suspects in two separate cases for fixing the IPL 2019. The lead came from a Pakistani source, according to the CBI. According to sources, the investigative agency has launched a nationwide investigation. And they have searched locations in Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Jodhpur.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time a fixing issue has surfaced in the glitzy T20 league. Three Rajasthan Royals players were in detention in 2013 for spot-fixing, including former Indian international S Sreesanth. Furthermore, the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years in 2016 and 2017. Also, this was after their owners were investigated for fixing and betting.
Meanwhile, Dileep Kumar (in Delhi), Gurram Vasu, Gurram Satish (in Hyderabad). Sajjan Singh, Prabhu Lal Meena, Ram Avtar, and Amit Kumar Sharma are in detention in the continuing case (from Rajasthan).
