IPL 2022: One of the best IPL franchises in the Indian Premier League has now taken their first step to facilitate the next generation of India in order to find more bright stars and emerging talents in the upcoming years. The franchise has launched their academies in some cities in Tamil Nadu. CSK will be starting their first two academies in two cities in Tamil Nadu in April 2022. Former CSK opener and Mr. Cricket, Michael Hussey, has praised this step by CSK.
The franchise will start with two centres, one at Thoraipaakam in Chennai and the second one in Salem. It will be open to facilitating young boys and girls, as well as other emerging talents. And the next vision is to expand the academy to the other cities of Tamil Nadu in coming years.
The defending champions are one of the two powerhouses in the IPL, along with MI. They have been in the playoffs almost every season apart from 2020. And as per the owners, it will be a great opportunity for the youngsters to showcase their talent.

Former CSK opener Michael Hussey also believed that the franchise is providing a great opportunity to the coming talents. Talking to The New Indian Express, the left-hander said that it will provide a great coaching option which will encourage new players to come to the big stage. Hussey was part of the Yellow Army from 2008 to 2013. He said,
“I think it’s a fantastic initiative, really excited about it. I think this gives opportunities to so many youngsters out there to get access to some great facilities, great coaching, and then hopefully improve their game and come up the ranks and then one day. It would be awesome to see a number of players coming out of these academies playing for CSK in the IPL.”
The opener was the first player to hit a century for Chennai Super Kings in IPL history. After 2013, he was brought back to CSK in 2015 again.
The Chennai CEO also believes that this initiative will promote many superstars in the future. Kasi Vishwanathan also said that it is an excellent platform for the coming generation. He also highlighted that Chennai Academy is going to launch the academy with summer camps in April 2022. Vishwanathan further concluded,
“We have been involved with cricket for five decades and believe this is an ideal way to give back to the sport. This will be the right opportunity for us to share our experience and help nurture the next generation of cricketers. With experienced coaches and the best of facilities, the Super Kings Academy will not only provide top-class coaching but also take a holistic approach in guiding boys and girls.”
