The BCCI has intimated all state associations through email to deny the journalist any press accreditation, interviews with registered players and access to any BCCI or state cricket for a total of two years.

An email from BCCI’s interim CEO Hemang Amin to the state associations read:

“The key issues for deliberation for the BCCI Committee in the matter was to ascertain if the messages sent by the journalist were in the nature of threat and intimidation. The BCCI Committee considered the submissions by both Mr. Saha and Mr. Majumdar and concluded that the actions by Mr. Majumdar were indeed in the nature of threat and intimidation,”

It all started when Wriddhiman Saha took to social media to report the subjugation by a reporter on Feb 19. Saha tweeted the screenshots and wrote a heartfelt note along saying:

“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

A 3-member committee was soon constituted on February 25 to look into the matter. As reported, a communication will also be sent to the ICC to ban the journalist from global events.

Boria earlier alleged Saha for tampering and morphing the screenshots and also informed about filing a defamation case against him. He claimed to have sent all the details and sequence of events to the BCCI. Boria further claimed that Saha’s manager visited his residence on February 1 and set up two interviews as a brand building exercise. He added that Saha had confirmed for an interview over zoom and his expressions were nothing but disappointment over failure of Mr. Saha to comply with his professional commitments.
