IPL 2022 LIVE: The defending champions have gone through one of their worst seasons in the history of the Indian Premier League. They are already dealing with an injury to their star pacer, Deepak Chahar, that has led him to be ruled out of the competition. Then the injury to the Kiwi speedster Adam Milne left a big hole in the pace bowling department. However, they will have to face another setback. As per some media reports, Jadeja, who missed the game against DC due to an issue with his upper body, might be ruled out of the rest of the tournament. The all-rounder captained the side in the first half of the competition.
However, he handed over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni mid-way to focus on his individual performance. But he sustained an injury to his upper body during a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite that, he continued with the game but missed the next game against DC.
IPL 2022 LIVE: Ravindra Jadeja might be ruled out of the rest of the tournament: Reports
As per the latest developments in the CSK camp, the all-rounder hasn’t shown any improvement regarding his injury. Notably, he is going through a horrible tournament with both bat and ball. This season, he has scored just 116 runs and taken five wickets. Highlighting his overall IPL career, Jadeja has scored 2502 runs at an average of 26.62 in 210 IPL games. He has also taken 132 wickets at a decent economy of 7.61.
However, there is speculation that there is something wrong between the all-rounder and the franchise at the moment. And CSK has also unfollowed Jadeja from their official Instagram handle. There might be another reason behind that, but certainly, it has become the talk among the fans. Looking for reliable betting tips and match guides for the 2022 season? Speaking of the defending champions, they are on the verge of being eliminated from the tournament. They have three more matches left and need three wins, so their chances depend on how the other teams perform. Mathematically, anything is possible. They will now face their arch-rivals, the Mumbai Indians, in their next match on Thursday, May 12 at the Wankhede Stadium.
CSK will play their remaining two matches against GT on Sunday and RR on May 20. If they win all their remaining matches, they will go up to 14 points. The minimum qualification criteria is 16 points for the playoffs.
