IPL 2022 LIVE: West Indies former cricketer Ian Bishop revealed his disappointment with RR’s captaincy Sanju Samson. Samson had wasted another chance to claim a big knock as per Ian Bishop. So far in the IPL 2022, Samson has registered 228 runs in the eight appearances.

This is the cycle of every year when Samson gave a good season in IPL then he got a chance to represent and failed. But now things have changed as there are already quite a good number of wicketkeeper batters available to represent India. The race is for the T20 World Cup squad selection. But there are already obvious contenders for the Wicketkeeper and top-order batter role.

In his previous appearance, Samson played a finisher role against Delhi Capitals. He smashed 46 runs and finish the RR’s batting inning very well. But he missed a good chance to score against RCB. When he came to bat there were a lot of overs remaining and he can make good runs on that wicket. But he failed to grab the opportunity. Samson scored only 21 runs in 27 balls where Wanindu Hasaranga tapped him when he tried to play a big shot. IPL 2022 LIVE: Ian Bishop on Samson’s Shot Selection

IPL 2022: Ian Bishop Revealed His Disappointment to Sanju Samson

Bishop mentioned that Samson had his chance to revive his side in a struggling situation but he failed because of his wrong shot selection. He continued that Samson was in song when a player is in good form he should make a big score. Whereas Samson seemed to fall against Hasaranga. This was not the first when Samson had wasted a chance to claim a big score but failed for poor shot selection.

“That Sanju is wasting good form and good opportunity to score runs to press for an international recall, to lead his team when Jos Buttler doesn’t score. It’s not that Sanju’s out of form. But that’s a match-up with Wanindu Hasaranga and him, and he should have known better. He got out of the blocks quite nicely. I’m a Sanju Samson fan, been that way for years now, (but) he’s wasting good form by the shot selection”
