The KKR skipper, Shreyas Iyer, won the toss and asked LSG to bat first. And they also had the best possible start when KL Rahul got out for a duck in the very first over. But then, Quinton de Kock (50 off 29) and Deepak Hooda (41 off 27) played steadily and kept LSG on track.

Both batters added 71 runs for the second wicket. The left-hander brought up his third half-century of this season, but just after that, he got out to Narine. Krunal Pandya (25 off 27) and Ayush Badoni (15 off 18) got the start but were not able to capitalise for a big score.

However, in the end, Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder hit a few balls out of the ground and added a few quick runs. Stoinis scored 28 runs off 14 balls, including three maximums and one four. Holder also hit two sixes in his four-ball innings and scored 13 runs. LSG ended their inning at 176/7 in their 20 overs.

Chasing the target, KKR stuck with the combination of Aaron Finch and Baba Indrajith. But this time as well, it didn’t work for them, as they lost the wicket-keeper batsman in the very first over for a duck.

Shreyas Iyer (6) and Nitish Rana (2) had a rare failure. Aaron Finch also scored just 14 runs and got out to Jason Holder. The last match hero, Rinku Singh (6), also got out cheaply.

However, star all-rounder Andre Russell played some shots and KKR was in the game till he was there. Russell scored 45 off just 19 balls, with five maximums and three fours. But once he got out, it was over for KKR.

Sunil Narine also played a cameo of 22 runs, but the task was so big. In the end, KKR got out at 101 in just 14.3 overs and lost the match by 75 runs. With this loss, KKR was also eliminated from the competition.

Avesh Khan was once again the bowler for KL Rahul. The pacer once again delivered for the team. He got three wickets for just 19 runs with one maiden. He got the vital wicket of the dangerous Andre Russell, who was looking like he might take KKR to victory. But Avesh bowled a really good ball to get rid of the all-rounder. For his performance of 3/19, he was named “Man of the Match.”
