IPL 2023: “Was Pretty Difficult”: Glenn Maxwell

“That first week in the hospital was pretty difficult. There were those thoughts while I was in the hospital looking at my leg because it looked like a balloon. (But) not having the nurses there and not having the constant pain medication … that was probably the most pain I’ve ever been in. I had to teach myself how to walk, which was pretty bizarre because the actual joint was so swollen and tight that it was basically like having two blocks of wood nailed together.”
Glenn Maxwell told Fox Cricket
At the time, Cricket Australia (CA) wholeheartedly supported his choice and committed to coordinating with Victoria Cricket’s support team to ensure his welfare. Despite Maxwell’s vigor on the pitch, then-head coach Justin Langer acknowledged there was something wrong with the athlete. Maxwell admitted that Moises Henriques was the one with whom he felt the most at ease since the latter allowed him to confide in him about his feelings.

IPL 2023: Glenn Maxwell’s Return
IPL 2023: Maxwell is still evaluating his progress each week rather than announcing a specific return date to professional cricket. Although it is now less probable that he will play again for the Melbourne Stars before the Big Bash is over. Maxwell missed the ODI series against England and the current BBL season due to a strange injury to his leg that occurred back in November.
He was also excluded from the Test tour of India as a result of it. Maxwell won’t be participating in the Big Bash League (BBL) in 2022–2023, according to Melbourne Stars coach David Hussey, but he believes Maxwell will be ready for the three-match ODI series in India in March.
