IPL 2023 Auction: After a successful 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, the upcoming auction’s preparations are about to start. However, ahead of that, a mini-auction will take place next month. The auction for the 2023 season will be held in Kochi on December 23. Although it will not be as big as the last auction, a lot of superstars will come under the hammer during the event. On the other hand, all the IPL franchises will be eyeing some exciting names across the globe.

An all-rounder is always needed in T20 cricket. And if he is a fast bowling all-rounder, he will provide the team with the right balance. That is why an all-rounder is in such high demand among IPL franchises. However, there are only a few players who can perform equally with both the bat and the ball. One such name is the emerging Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green. The 23-year-old has shown the world that he is very effective in the shorter format.

IPL Auction 2023: “We’ll Wait and See”- Here’s What Pat Cummins Said When Asked About Cameron Green Playing in IPL

Green caught attention with his hitting power when Australia toured India for three T20Is in September. He played as an opener for the team in the absence of David Warner. And he seized the opportunity with both hands, eventually becoming Australia’s leading run scorer. He scored two blistering fifties, including an 18-ball half-century.

Green also scored runs at an average of 39.22 and an unbelievable strike rate of 214.54. According to some reports, the all-rounder will participate in the IPL auction. However, Australian ODI and Test captain Pat Cummins also has his view on it. In an interaction on SEN Radio, Cummins said that

“Yeah potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away. Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia. “But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?”

On the other hand, Cummins himself is not taking part in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. The Australian skipper has decided to skip the next season of the IPL, citing his busy schedule. Australia is scheduled to play 15 Test matches and the 2023 ODI World Cup in October and November of next year.
