Gaikwad was the first wicket to fall; he made 37 off 31 balls. His dismissal brought Shivam Dube to the crease. Dube (28 off 17) and Conway added 44 runs for the second wicket. Conway carried on his form and scored his fifth half-century of this season. He carried his bat through the inning and remained unbeaten on 92 from 52 balls, with one six and 16 boundaries. Chennai posted 200/4 in the first inning.

Punjab also started well and added 50 runs for the first wicket in 4.2 overs. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan got out after scoring 28 off 15. Prabhsimran Singh played a brilliant cameo of 42 off 24 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. At one stage, it looked like Punjab might end up on the losing side. But some good contributions in the middle sealed the deal for the visitors. PBKS registered a four-wicket win. After the win, there were some crazy scenes, and Punjab players couldn’t hold their emotions.
