“Every Young Kid Looks Up to RCB,” Says Brett Lee
The RCB franchise may not have a trophy but it indeed has a loyal fanbase. There’s no doubt that the RCB franchise has had some big names over the years and has managed to receive love irrespective of their results. Ahead of Bangalore’s big match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, former legendary fast bowler Brett Lee opens up about the popularity of the franchise and more. This year, despite starting well, the team has found itself in a fix and will now have to win both their remaining games to enter the playoffs.
In a video shared on RCB social media handle, Brett Lee is seen discussing the Bangalore based franchise. The player acknowledged that a lot of budding cricketers look up to the team. He also expressed his desire to be a part of the red and gold army. The RCB team has created a reputation of never giving up irrespective of the situation and this has acted as an inspiration to many.

I think I could fit in RCB really nicely: Brett Lee
“RCB to me is a franchise that every young kid looks up to and wants to be a part of. They look like they play hard on the field, I would say extremely hard on the field. It seems like the people involved have a lot of fun outside the field as well. I like the colour red and I admire the beautiful gold on the logo so I think I could fit in RCB really nicely,” Brett Lee said. In the last 3 years, RCB has had great seasons, qualifying for the playoffs in each of them. Their chances of playoffs are still open, especially after their 112 runs victory against Rajasthan Royals in the last game.
After the victory, RCB captain Faf Du Plessis said, “Really good for our NRR. Tough pitch. We batted first and assessed the conditions. But we managed to capitalize on the momentum shift at the end. Great job.” With the IPL nearing its concluding phase, RCB has 2 games left, one against SRH and another against GT. While SRH’s chances of qualification are done and GT has officially qualified, they can still spoil the game for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
