GT vs DC: Watch Mohammed Shami Bowls One of The Finest Spells of IPL
The experienced pacer did the damage right on the first delivery of the GT vs DC match. He started with a gentle outswinger outside the off-stump inviting Philip Salt for a cover drive. Salt did go for the drive but the ball remained in the air and David Miller took a simple catch at cover to dismiss Salt for a Golden Duck.
Mohammed Shami came in to bowl the third over and this time his prey was dangerous batter Rilee Rossouw. The GT pacer bowled a good length delivery around the fourth stump line and the ball went further away. Rossouw tried defending the delivery but could only manage an outside edge as Wriddhiman Saha took an easy catch.
Considering the kind of movement Shami was getting on the Ahmedabad wicket, Hardik Pandya gave him another over in the powerplay. Shami again bowled a test match length as Manish Pandey went for a strong bottom-handed push leading to an outside edge and Saha took a blinder behind the wicket.
On the last delivery of the 5th over, Mohammed Shami again bowled a fullish outswinger outside off stump. Young Priyam Garg went for the drive as Saha grabbed another catch and Shami got his fourth wicket within the powerplay overs.
Mohammed Shami’s brilliant spell was hailed as one of the finest spells of IPL by the experts. He gave just 11 runs while taking 4 crucial wickets in his four-over spell and went on to register the second-best figures of IPL 2023.
