Wriddhiman Saha overtook his teammate all-rounder Vijay Shankar to become the batter with the fastest fifty for GT. Shankar had scored a 24-ball fifty in the IPL 2023 game on April 9 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The keeper-batter started his innings in an incredible fashion, hitting left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan for back-to-back boundaries in the first over of Gujarat Titans’ innings. Saha then took on Avesh Khan in the second over and smashed him for a six and a boundary taking GT’s total to 23 runs.
Mohsin Khan then came in to bowl the fourth over as Saha went after him once again and hit him for a couple of sixes and two fours in the over. Wriddhiman Saha brought up his first half-century of the season in just 20 balls by hitting Yash Thakur for a massive six over the long-on boundary.
Saha smashed the fastest fifty for Gujarat Titans and also registered the highest individual score in the powerplay in IPL 2023 scoring 54 runs off just 23 balls. Courtesy of his breathtaking knock, Gujarat Titans were placed at a score of 78-0 by the end of the powerplay.
The GT opener went on to score 81 runs off 43 deliveries, including 10 boundaries and four monstrous sixes. He was eventually dismissed in the 13th over as Prerak Mankad grabbed an exceptional catch on the deep square leg boundary off an Avesh Khan delivery.
Saha’s opening partner Shubman Gill remained unbeaten played an incredible knock of 94 runs off just 51 deliveries. Gujarat Titans never lost momentum in the GT vs LSG game as they posted a massive total of 227-2 on a batting-friendly wicket in Ahmedabad.
