Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya will be more than happy with his team’s bowling unit consisting of the likes of Mohammad Shami, Mohit Sharma to Rashid Khan, and others. His is Gujarat Titans’ second consecutive playoffs after their victory last year. Mohammad Shami has had his best IPL season this time with 23 wickets and a couple of matches still remaining. The veteran bowler’s performance has impressed former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh.

After Shubman Gill set the momentum of the match by scoring a century in the first innings and helping the team reach a target of 189 runs, it was now the work of bowlers to seal the dead. Mohammad Shami as well as Mohit Sharma made it extremely difficult for the opposition batters to stick around and build partnerships. Both the fast bowlers picked up 4 wickets each as Gujarat Titans finished victorious at the end against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Any team would want such a bowler (Mohammad Shami): Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh Applauds Mohammad Shami’s Performance

Discussing the opening spell of Mohammad Shami, Harbhajan Singh said, “He gave a blow in the first over. Then Rahul Tripathi’s wicket – that was a big one. After that, the batters didn’t know much in his entire spell. When he is in rhythm, he finishes half the match in the powerplay. Any team would want such a bowler, who bowls with the new ball and bowls good yorkers at the death. He puts in all his experience. This is not the first time. He has bowled four-wicket spells multiple times. He always picks up wickets with the new ball. It is unbelievable the way he bowls.”

Mohammad Shami finished his spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad with 4 wickets for 21 runs. After the match and the qualification, Mohammad Shami shared a heartwarming post on social media expressing his gratitude. Moreover, the fast bowler owns the purple cap now with 23 wickets. Right below Shami is Rashid Khan with the same number of wickets and Mohit Sharma too is on the list with 17 wickets. Gujarat Titans will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match on May 21.
