Kolkata Knight Riders needed 2 runs off the last 2 deliveries when Punjab Kings’ pacer Arshdeep bowled an exceptional wide yorker. Andre Russell couldn’t get underneath it and failed to make any contact as the ball landed in PBKS keeper Jitesh Sharma’s gloves.

Interestingly, Rinku Singh, who was at the non-striker’s end looked for a cheeky single. The KKR all-rounder, despite being late, responded for the bye but could not reach the other end as Arshdeep Singh ran him out and looked like a turning point in the game.
“Definitely in any other game, with any other batter, I’m not sure if I would have run. I’ve never really done those things before. I would back myself to bat till the last delivery and get the job done,” Andre Russell said in the post-match press conference.
Wherever you bowl, Rinku Singh has a shot to counter that: Andre Russell
“But when you have a batter like Rinku at the other end and who has been successful in the last few games for us, I was definitely confident. He is just a fearless player, wherever you bowl he has a shot to counter that. I told him we need you and we need you at this point,” the KKR all-rounder further discussed about Rinku Singh’s ability with the bat.
Andre Russell had smashed 3 sixes in the 19th over of KKR innings against Punjab Kings’ all-rounder San Curran. The Nitish Rana-led side scored 20 runs off the penultimate over and looked like ceasing the game quite comfortably.
However, Arshdeep Singh had different plans as he bowled some brilliant lines and lengths and only gave 4 runs off the first 4 deliveries. Dismissal of Andre Russell on the 5th delivery made things even tougher for the KKR side but Rinku Singh made sure to seal the victory for his side in the KKR vs PBKS game.
