Marcus Stoinis is a batsman with a muscular and sturdy physique. He bowls medium pace and proves handy in mid-overs. Stoinis was a late bloomer and had settled into the national side a little before the 2019 World Cup. Stoinis was signed by Delhi Daredevils in 2015, but didn’t feature in their plans and was later bought by Kings XI Punjab. With not much to offer, Kings XI Punjab traded Stoinis with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Stoinis can hit the ball long and hard. He contributed quite well to RCB’s campaign in 2019 quite well by scoring 211 in 10 innings at an astonishing average of 52.75. Though he didn’t bowl much that season. In 56 matches in the IPL, Stoinis has scored 914 runs and has hit 75 fours and 35 sixes. He has scalped 30 wickets with the best figures of 4/15. Stoinis was bought as a draft pick by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL mega auction for INR 9.2 Cr.

2) Glenn Maxwell (Royal Challengers Bangalore) (97 matches)

Maxwell belongs to the category of players who are supremely talented but are not consistent with the results. Maxwell was the talk of the town when he was signed by Mumbai Indians for $1 Million. He was later transferred to Kings XI Punjab, where he struck 7 fifties in the 2014 season, including three 90 plus scores. However, he had miserable seasons in the following years.

His unorthodox and all-around stroke play makes him unique in his approach towards the game. However, his unconventional approach is a double-edged sword. On his day, he is as destructible as one can be. A nightmare for bowlers. On other days, when things don’t fall in their place, his unconventional portray him as a non-serious cricketer. This was why he struggled to cement his place on the national side and was could never establish himself as a dependable player. Maxwell is an extraordinary fielder and is quite useful with his spin bowling. In his 97 IPL matches, Maxwell has 2018 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 151.84 with 12 fifties to his name. Royal Challengers Bangalore retained Glen Maxwell ahead of mega auctions for INR 11 cr for the 15th edition of the IPL.

Overseas players are a prized asset for franchises in the IPL. Especially someone like David Warner, who is the leading overseas run-getter in the history of the IPL. In 150 matches in the IPL, Warner has amassed 5449 runs at an astonishing average of 41.6. He has 4 centuries and is third on the list after Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.

Australian left-handed opener David Warner was the pick of the players at the IPL mega auction. He was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp last year and has been roped in by Delhi Capitals for INR 6.25 Cr for IPL 2022. Warner is a voracious scorer and has an appetite for runs. He is short on stature but is capable of dismissing the ball to the farthest corners of the field. Moreover, he is a brilliant fielder and is very sharp in the field.

Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL title win in 2016. He has won the orange cap three times, most by any batsman in the history of the IPL.
