IPL 2022: 3 Players Who Can Replace Glenn Maxwell in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
IPL 2022: Glenn Maxwell was retained ahead of the IPL Auction 2022 by Royal Challengers Bangalore, his old franchise. However, the Australian players are expected to miss the first few games of the season. The hard-hitting star was one of the expensive retentions of the franchise, and fans were looking forward to seeing Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell play together in the IPL 2022. Now with Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, and Jason Behrendorff expected to miss at least the first two games, RCB will rely largely on their other foreign players. Unfortunately, Maxwell also has been ruled out of the IPL’s early stages. David Warner, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins will also miss the first week of the IPL, according to Cricbuzz.
This is despite the fact that they will not be competing in the limited-overs series against Pakistan, which begins on March 29. The following are the three players who can step in for Maxwell while he misses the initial matches:

3. Sherfane Rutherford

Sherfane Rutherford, a West Indies all-rounder, is a candidate for RCB to replace Maxwell. The southpaw is no stranger to the IPL, having previously spent time with the Mumbai Indians.
He appeared in seven games for that franchise and, he does bring the ability to hit the ball hard and long. If necessary, the Caribbean cricketer can also bowl a few overs. He will make the middle-order of RCB stable.
2. Finn Allen
Finn Allen, a hard-hitting New Zealander, is the most likely replacement for the Australian superstar. Allen was brought in as a replacement for Josh Philippe last season, as a hitter who could dominate bowling attacks. With only six T20Is under his belt, the Kiwi batsman is a relative newcomer to the T20I circuit.
In six matches, he has 156 runs at an average of 26.0 and with a strike rate of 190.24. Due to his talent, he is touted as the next big thing in T20 cricket back in his home nation. His T20 record serves as evidence of his talent.
1. Mahipal Lomror
If RCB decides to go with indigenous talent, Mahipal Lomror would be the ideal contender to fill the vacancy. In the 2021 season, he only played four games and scored 94 runs at an average of 31.33 and a strike rate of 128.76. However, the all-rounder possesses the skills and temperament of a No. 4 batsman.
On the batting front, Mahipal Lomror’s greatest skill is his ability to take down spin at will. This aspect could be crucial to RCB’s hopes. After the Powerplay overs, RCB has seen to be hampered by a lack of acceleration, which is where Lomror could come in help. Using him at three may allow him to take on the tweakers and pump energy into the innings, as he has done in domestic cricket.
